As part of the Vale of Glamorgan’s “Reshaping Services Single User Outdoor Sports Facilities” project, within the next two years, Penarth Athletic Club, made up of the Penarth Cricket, Rugby, Men’s Hockey and Ladies’ Hockey Clubs will be required to take on full responsibility for the running costs, management and maintenance of the Athletic Field.
As part of the planning for this scenario, the Athletic Club is considering an ambitious redevelopment of the Club’s buildings in order that it can both provide a first class community facility and also ensure that the club remains sustainable in the future so it can continue to provide sporting and social opportunities along with additional community centred support for all members of the community.
Over the course of the pandemic the Athletic Club provided a focal point for the community which emphasised the important part it plays in community life. It is the Club’s ambition, with this proposed project, to play an even bigger part in the community. As part of the project the Club wants its members, local residents, community groups and clubs along with local businesses to play a full and engaged role in helping us design and deliver something that we can all be proud of and enjoy.
By following the link below we would be grateful if you could provide us with your thoughts, ideas and comments about what a new improved Penarth Athletic Club should look like and what facilities it should provide.
